The aim of the programme is to train agricultural digitalisation engineers who are capable of operating and managing agri-digitalisation and IoT tools in the domestic and international agricultural economy. Graduates are able to solve agricultural digitalisation development tasks while taking sector-specific characteristics into account, and to perform middle-management roles in various fields of agricultural digitalisation at both national and international levels. They are also prepared to continue their studies in a master’s degree programme.

Characteristics of the Correspondence Study Program
The curriculum, the progression of knowledge, and the final examination requirements are identical to those of the full-time study program. However, the nature of instruction, the organization of subject groups, and certain methodological aspects may vary depending on the location of the training. Classes for students are held at all training locations on the dates specified in the semester schedule of the correspondence programme.
Károly Róbert Campus: Students’ classes are held on a weekly basis on Fridays and/or Saturdays.
Kaposvár Campus: Classes for students are held on a weekly basis on Fridays and/or Saturdays.
Professional practice
- 3 weeks (a total of 60 hours) of training related to the professional theoretical programme in full-time study mode, and 1.5 weeks (a total of 30 hours) in part-time study mode; as well as
- a professional internship carried out at an external training site lasting one semester (twelve to fifteen weeks). The internship comprises 520 hours in full-time study mode and 260 hours in part-time study mode.
Skills and professional competences acquired on completion of the program
A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural and Business Digitalization will be able to:
- To manage organisational units relevant to the professional fields of small, medium-sized and possibly large agricultural enterprises. In business organisations, graduates perform comprehensive agricultural economic and information technology functions; they plan and manage complex agri-business processes and manage resources efficiently. Based on the knowledge acquired and experience gained, they are capable of managing and operating their own enterprises. In their work, they cooperate with stakeholders from related professional fields.
- To organise, monitor, analyse and evaluate production processes in agriculture. Graduates are able to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
- To participate in management processes, projects and group-based problem-solving tasks, and, as middle managers, to plan, organise and evaluate activities related to their field of expertise. Graduates are capable of performing and managing innovation, planning, development and research tasks in the field of agricultural economics, as well as managing the practical application of research results.
- To perform high-quality analytical, decision-support and decision-making activities related to the establishment, operation and termination of enterprises involved in the agricultural economy. Working independently and as part of a team, graduates are able to participate in the development and implementation of business, operational, tactical and strategic plans. They are capable of applying modern IT tools and software related to the operation of agriculture, and of professional and effective oral and written communication in Hungarian and in at least one foreign language.
- To analyse the problems and opportunities of a given rural area in a comprehensive manner and to provide advice on possible directions for development, actively participating in territorial and regional planning tasks. Graduates are able to assess the impacts of specific corporate, institutional or community projects on the economic, social and natural environment of rural areas. They are capable of improving the living conditions and livelihoods of people residing in rural areas affected by various sectors of agribusiness, integrating available resources, developing the local economy, and contributing to sustainable development.
Conditions of obtaining pre-degree certificate (absolutorium)
- completion of all compulsory courses of the programme;
- completion of the required number of elective credits according to the curriculum, amounting to a total of 210 credits.
Final exam
Conditions to attend final exam:
- obtained pre-degree certificate (absolutorium);
- submission of thesis and its acceptance by reviewers;
- the student shall not be in debt to the University.
Parts of final exam:
- thesis defense;
- comprehensive complex exam (A- and B-list of questions)
