Paragraph 61 of the Regulations for Studies and Examinations (SER) and Annex 1 to the SER: Regulations on Internship contain the provisions on internship.
Internship: a partly independent student activity to be completed at an internship place of the higher education institution or an external internship site, within the framework of higher educational vocational trainings and undergraduate (bachelor’s), master’s, and integrated (undivided) one-tier programmes.
Its duration period specified in the programme and output requirements for higher education vocational trainings, bachelor's and master's programmes, provide an opportunity to apply acquired knowledge and practical skills in the workplace and in the job, to combine theoretical and practical knowledge, to familiarise oneself with the workplace and work processes, and to practise professional competences.
The internship takes place in the semester specified in the curriculum of the relevant study programme.
The internship may be carried out in the following types of sites:
- at the site offered by the University (institute/campus);
- the external site proposed by the student and approved by the University;
- Erasmus placements.
Payment obligation of the host site
A student who is obliged to undertake an internship may work on the basis of a student employment contract concluded with the placement institution pursuant to Section 44 paragraph (1) point a) of the National Higher Education Act.
In this case, the student may be paid a payment or, must be paid in the case of a continuous internship of six weeks, the amount of which is determined in accordance with Section 44 paragraph (3) point (a) of the National Higher Education Act. The student's payment shall be paid to the student by the cooperating partner.
